Video Inquiry Form

Thank you for your interest in producing a video!

The College of Engineering communications team is here to help you as best as we can to produce a high-quality product that will appeal to your audience.

Please fill out the form below to get your project started. Before you do, though, here is some helpful background information that we share with all of our colleagues who need to produce video:

  • Lead time is key. Though we can help you on shorter timelines, a longer lead time is a key ingredient in producing a high-quality video. Contacting us early will lead to the best possible planning for this multi-step process: pre-production, production and post-production.
  • Let us film things for you. We work best if you leave the filming to us. It’s a lot harder if colleagues give us already shot video and ask us to edit or improve it. Getting in touch via this form will allow us to set up and handle the filming.
  • There are multiple types of video we can produce. Most people think of the traditional format that includes on-camera interviews paired with background footage. But there are alternatives! You may want to think about background footage combined with voiceover from a hidden narrator. Or a montage of our professional College of Engineering photographs with a narrator voiceover.
  • Think short! People are unlikely to watch any video longer than 2 minutes. Think about creative ways to get your point across quickly and concisely. Our most successful COE videos are between 30 seconds and 90 seconds long.
  • If you are doing on-camera interviews, have your talent lined up. Speaking on camera is not easy. If you are going the on-camera interview route, make sure you have energetic, “big personality” individuals who are capable of speaking clearly and confidently.
  • Location, location, location. If you are doing on-camera interviews, we will need to film them in a quiet area free of distractions and background noise. If you don’t have a location like this, we can help you figure out what to do.

We look forward to hearing from you! Now, on to the form:

  • You can choose an approximate date if you do not have a hard and fast deadline.
    MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • In other words, what is the "big idea" that you want people to remember when people have finished watching your video?
  • Note: our team may work with you to explore another option if we think you may get better results with a different approach.
